Each belly design is a personal collaboration, you supply ideas and symbols, which I will paint on you, while we chat.
After nearly 700 bellies, I am able to beautifully adorn women of any size, shape and color, I have many example photos and sample design books.
Once we create your design, take your cup of tea and settle into my special henna chair, to watch your design develop before your eyes. Sometimes I am rewarded with a nudge of approval from the little one as I paint.
SarahKate classic design on hands and a very ripe belly.
When we agree the design is complete, you finally get to see the whole thing in the mirror: you and your belly have become a walking, work of art!
Now it's time for photos,
many women say this is the best part!
We get the first photos, as soon as the henna is dry, while it fresh and dark, with the perfect lighting of the studio.
The photo options are lots of fun, we have some great locations and encourage you to bring your hubby, kids and mom, family, we have a lot of fun and not matter what, it's all about you!
This is something that I really love to do, my husband Rob comes with to manage the exposure and lighting. We have selected some beautiful land, with views and nature. Many of our subjects have never really been the center of attention like this, looking and feeling so beautiful, it is a gratifying experience
We can take photos directly after your Henna Pamper Session, with the henna fresh and dark, it makes striking photos. This is handy for busy women or those who live far away and driving back in 3 days would be difficult.
Ideally, you will return after 3 days, when the Henna is peaking in color and we can schedule a photo shoot time. Ideally, we like to capture the sunrise or sunset, to take advantage of the soft, 'colorful' lighting. We have a handful of locations depending on if you like, mountain, water or prairie backgrounds. In most cases, we use our intuition on which location to choose, if you have any preferences, always let us know.
Over the past decade, I have amassed a collection of wrap skirts, silk, and tule, for my signature look. I love it when women bring things which make them feel beautiful: jewelry, scarves, whole outfits. We make a few costume changes in the field for variety and fun!
