This lovely mama was in my studio to celebrate her 3rd pregnancy - thus the 3 birds. Her design incorporated several large flowers and leaves, kind of like a mandala. So wonderful to connect with her and hear her stories of motherhood.
She gave birth with the henna before I could photograph her with peaking pregnancy henna. I was so happy to hear her birth had gone well and she welcomed my into her home in Lafayette for some belly and baby photos. How I love to see babies on the outside! He is both incredibly small and large... just adorable.
As you can see, when henna goes through birth the design stays pretty intact. The belly does shrink after birth, but it is a slow process and the design slowly fades away - a sweet reminder of her celebration. We stepped outside in her darling backyard garden and snapped this photo just before another spring rainstorm.
Simply email me if you would like to set up a time to be adorned with henna & photographed.
I have packages that include a henna session and finished, high resolution photos as well as a printed book!
