I adorn women for many different reasons, including henna as a healing force. Henna crowns are a common request for those going through chemotherapy, and can take many forms beyond the traditional mandala. To carefully adorn the head can take about 2 hours and can be done in your home on in my home studio in Lafayette, Colorado.
Other women prefer to have a kind of healing henna party, where they invite their dearest friends and everyone partakes in henna. These gatherings can be really special and deepen friendships in a new way, bringing a lightness to an otherwise challenging time.
I also create henna tattoos that go over scars, especially for those women who have had mastectomies. It is an honor to hear a woman say, "I haven't loved my body since the surgery, but now that I have this gorgeous tattoo I'm loving my body again! Thank you!"
